ML isotope identification
A portable detector and machine-learning pipeline for unknown-isotope ID.
A student group-study project I supervise (2023–2026), aiming at automatic identification of unknown gamma-emitting isotopes from a low-cost portable detector.
- Portable scintillator detector with a charge-sensitive preamplifier and shaping amplifier designed in-house.
- Geant4 used to generate large, labelled training spectra covering detector response and geometry effects.
- A classifier trained on the simulated data and validated against measured sources.
